IT would appear that Brexit has become such an unmitigated mess that even the staunchest proprietors of leaving the EU are already trying to distance themselves from the inevitable hardships that lay ahead.
THERE have been tragic scenes witnessed throughout the world this week as a result of the long heatwaves many countries have been experiencing. It is worth taking this quick opportunity to remind everyone to take extreme care if they’re visiting places with these huge temperatures. Please remember to drink lots of water. My thoughts are with all those affected by the wildfires in Greece, and all those suffering due to the high temperatures in Japan and throughout the world. My thoughts are also with the victims and families affected by the awful crash in Moray.

AS time goes on and we continue to witness Trumpmania, it is easy to become desensitised to things that were viewed as shocking not so long ago. In the context of a president who described neo-Nazis as “very fine people” and managed to stay in the job, it should come as no surprise that immigrants are being treated abhorrently in the US. However, the policy of separating children from their families and shoving them in cages is one that truly shocked me.
THIS week we saw the mask of Westminster slip to reveal the patronising, arrogant and dangerous face that has always lurked beneath.
IMMIGRATION needs to be devolved as soon as possible. Scotland relies on immigration, and the UK Government’s policies will do nothing other than harm Scotland’s prospects. And worse than that, I see no reason to believe the Tories actually care.
