TWO North Sea multinationals have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on development work for clients in the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
Aberdeen-based Wood Group and Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG), from Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands, will be offering platform development services from design and installation, to hook-up and commissioning.
The move will bring together Wood Group’s engineering expertise and HFG’s specialist services in the engineering and construction of large and complex structures for the offshore oil, gas and energy-related industries. The MoU is aimed at satisfying demand in the NCS for wellhead platforms that offer cost efficient solutions for field developments.
Dave Stewart, from Wood Group, said: “This MoU positions us to provide innovative services to clients, through integrating Wood Group’s strong global engineering expertise and in-depth knowledge of the Norwegian sector with HFG’s broad experience and know-how for construction and installation in the North Sea offshore industry. We look forward to breathing new efficiencies and technical innovations into the NCS through the success of our collaboration.”
HFG’s CEO Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven, added: “We are delighted to combine our strengths for the Norwegian offshore market. The MoU underlines our continuing commitment to offer competitive turn-key solutions to our customers.”
