WORKING life at an island distillery and the spectacular Orkney location where it stands have been captured on camera as part of a whisky firm’s partnership with a photographer best known for his portraits of famous musicians.

Copenhagen-based Søren Solkær has photographed Oasis, Björk, Pharrell Williams, Adele, R.E.M, The White Stripes and Franz Ferdinand.

He is also involved in a collaboration with distiller Highland Park and, for his most recent project with the company, visited the Orkney distillery where Highland Park single malt is made.

Solkær met the team of just over 20 Orcadians who work at the distillery, and photographed each of them during various stages of the whisky-making process. The photographs he took will be released later in the year.

Solkær has contributed to magazines including Q Magazine, Rolling Stone and GQ and has staged solo exhibitions around the world.
