HUNDREDS of new jobs are to be created over the next five years by a global professional services firm bolstering its European operations in Scotland.

Genpact in Glasgow will be expanding with 300 new posts in digital solutions, risk management, insurance claims, business process transformation, and customer service as part of an investment supported by a £3.1 million grant from Scottish Enterprise.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon welcomed the announcement during a visit to Genpact’s Glasgow office.

“Scotland continues to be recognised as a prime business location for global companies looking for a foothold in and access to Europe. This is thanks to our exceptional skills, business infrastructure, low-cost base and global business network,” she said.

Genpact has around 165 employees in Glasgow, who specialise in wealth management servicing and digital platforms for financial services companies.

The company has a presence in more than 20 countries and was founded in 1997 as a business unit within General Electric (GE). Its charter was to provide business process services to GE’s businesses, with the goal of enabling outstanding efficiencies. During the eight years that followed, Genpact began to manage a wide range of processes across GE’s financial services and manufacturing businesses.

Genpact provides digital-led consulting, analytics, and business process management services for many Fortune Global 500 companies in the financial services, insurance, healthcare, life sciences, consumer goods, industrial manufacturing, high-tech, and services industries. Genpact has an existing delivery centre in Glasgow with approximately 165 employees specialising in wealth management servicing and digital platform provisioning for financial services companies.
