THE latest whisky to join Tullibardine’s crafted range, The Murray, has been awarded a prestigious 95 points by judges at the 2017 Ultimate Spirits Challenge, giving it the coveted “extraordinary, ultimate recommendation” status in the Highland Single Malt Whisky category.

The cask-strength whisky was recognised as a finalist in this year’s blind-judged competition for the Chairman’s Trophy, impressing judges with its brawny nose of peanut brittle, mushroom, wet autumn leaves, apricot, toffee and vanilla and its delightfully smoky finish.

This marks the first award for the single malt expression, which was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2016 after maturing in first-fill bourbon casks at the Perthshire distillery.
