ALMOST 500 jobs are to be created as call centre company AGO Outsourcing announces major expansion in East Kilbride.

The first 90 positions will be created in the firm’s sales division within weeks, followed by another 380 posts in customer service, finance and social media early next year.

The company, established in 2016, provides outsourced business services including inbound and outbound customer services and sales call handling for SME and Blue Chip clients.

It specialises in the automotive and utilities sectors, as well as financial services, retail, telecommunications and the public sector.

Announcing the news yesterday, the company said the recruitment is part of a £40 million investment spanning five years. Denise Cassidy, contact centre operations manager, said new staff could expect quality jobs at the South Lanarkshire centre.

She said: “This announcement could not have come at a better time for this sector, and I’m delighted that East Kilbride has been selected as the hosting location.

“The site is state-of-the-art, and the operation will, without doubt, be a very desirable opportunity for many people.”

She went on: “Many years ago, the contact centre industry left a lot to be desired.

“However, AGO Outsourcing have developed something special here, the investment in the facility, the technology and most importantly our people, will guarantee long term a bright future for all involved.”
