A BOOST of £500 is on the menu for Alzheimer Scotland thanks to a family-owned bar and restaurant group.

Ayrshire-based Buzzworks operates a quarterly charity bonus scheme in which each of its 10 venues is scored on factors including sales, customer service and cleanliness. The top four performers are awarded a share of £1000 to gift to their chosen registered charity.

The team from Elliots in Prestwick was ranked first for the second quarter in a row and once again chose to donate their £500 to Alzheimer Scotland.

Treehouse in Ayr, Lido in Prestwick and The Long House in Kilmarnock were crowned second, third and fourth place.

Treehouse chose South Ayrshire Foodbank to benefit from its £250, Lido picked Aberlour Children’s Charity for its £150 and Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland were presented with £100 from The Long House. Buzzworks managing director Kenny Blair said: “Our pro-social bonus scheme is our way of giving back and rewarding the hard work and dedication of our employees.

“Offering the choice of charity to the individual winning venues ensures our people and the communities we work in come first.”
