ONE of the country’s largest funeral providers has given a generous donation to the University of Dundee for teaching facilities in its Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID).

Dignity, who run Dundee Crematorium and helps the University hold its annual service for body donors, handed over a cheque for £15,000.

The money will be used to improve facilities for medical and dental training, and to allow the centre to expand plans for public engagement activities.

Professor Tracey Wilkinson said: “We are extremely grateful to Dignity. We have an excellent relationship with the company, who have provided exceptional services for our anatomical donation programme over many years. It’s so rewarding see a company, with whom we work so closely, keen to support us in other areas of our work.

“This donation will certainly help improve how we engage with the public and our staff and students every day.”

David Baxter of Dignity said: “We work closely together so it seemed natural for us to help [CAHID] take their ideas for the future forward.”
