A SCOTTISH bakery is celebrating the success of a new launch at Asda.
Loch Ness Bakery says its new flavours of Shortbread Bites have been flying off the shelves in the four weeks they have been on sale, and sales are set to smash budget expectations in the run-up to Christmas.
Asda is the only UK supermarket stocking all four new flavours – salted caramel, dreamy chocolate, raspberry and white chocolate and smooth vanilla.
Loch Ness Bakery sales and marketing manager Louise Creevy said: “We are really proud of the quality of the products we make fresh every day and sales of our new Shortbread Bites range in Asda stores across the country have been much higher than we had hoped.
“Any Asda shopper buying the brand is also supporting two charities close to our heart as we give 10 per cent of our profits to the Beatson Cancer charity and Erskine Proud to Care.”
Asda regional buying manager Heather Turnbull said: “Loch Ness Bakery products are premium quality and give our Scottish customers a new and flavoursome choice.
“Feedback from everyone who has tried the new products has been incredibly positive, so we look forward to working closely with the business and hopefully increasing the range of products available in–stores in due course.
“Supporting local Scottish suppliers is an integral part of what we strive to do at Asda and we’re delighted to be stocking Loch Ness Bakery’s range across our stores.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
