THE first Skyr made in Scotland will be launched by Graham’s this month.

Five flavours of the high protein, fat-free Icelandic-style yoghurt will be available from mid-January: natural, lemon, strawberry, Victoria plum and passion fruit, mango and papaya from Scottish Sainsbury’s and Aldi stores. Home Bargains stores in Scotland will also stock Skyr from mid-March.

Skyr, a cultured dairy product native to Iceland, is made from skimmed milk from Graham’s 100 partners and has nutritional properties similar to Greek yoghurt.

Robert Graham, managing director of Graham’s said: “Product development is always high on our agenda. We pride ourselves on being innovative, as well as responding to the needs of our customers. We’re glad to be launching the first Skyr produced in Scotland. With our new listings in Scotland, we plan to expand our reach in the UK in the coming months and I’m excited to hear feedback from customers across the country.”
