SCOTTISH children’s hospices have been given half-a-million pounds thanks to the annual Kiltwalk charity events.

Over the last seven years, thousands of Scots have raised more than £500,000 for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

More than 400 CHAS supporters took part in a Kiltwalk in 2017 in four Scottish locations (Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh) which each offer three distances: the Mighty Stride, Big Stroll and Wee Wander. A total of £120,000 was raised last year pushing the total raised since the events begun to more than £500,000.

Scott Maxwell of CHAS, said: “I want to say 500,000 thank yous to every single person who has helped us raise this amazing total by challenging themselves and taking on a Kiltwalk event.”

To celebrate, Robin House in Balloch – part of the CHAS family – hosted an event for members of the Kiltwalk organisation and CHAS families last week.
