SO now we know the secrets of Del Boy Davis’s success at the negotiating table. He stays calm. Well I for one would love a bottle of whatever he is on to keep him this calm, because anyone in their right mind would be stressed beyond belief at the mess the negotiations he is supposedly leading are in.
He also says one doesn’t need to be clever to do his job. Oh really Dave? That statement I believe, but when you factor in the fact that you are lazy, shoddy and ill-prepared, then the UK public should be very afraid of you leading the Brexit charge. The icing on the cake is that with the other lazy, shoddy etc trio of Johnson, Gove and Fox, the whole fiasco is going to hell in a hand cart.

SO, David Davis reckons his Irish border legality issue was misinterpreted by the press, and that what he really meant has been accepted by Leo Varadkar, the Irish Republic Taoiseach. In which case may I make the suggestion that Davis was not selected as the Brexit Secretary for his knowledge or negotiating skills, but that his suitability was down to the fact that he is not really very clever and that he knows very little.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
