PROOF that Yes groups all over the country are preparing correctly for indyref2 is the event being organised by the Dundee and Angus Independence Group just six days after the Gathering in Stirling.

On Saturday, June 3, from 10am-4pm, the group will host a National Grassroots Campaign Workshop in The Old Mill, 23 Brown Street, Dundee. Tickets are available from Eventbrite.

An impressive list of campaigners has been lined up to lead the workshop sessions which will be the core of the event.

They include Dundee (United)’s Pat Joyce, Maggie Chapman, Ian Black, Scott Tindal and The National’s cartoonist Greg Moodie and columnist Lesley Riddoch.

The organisers say: “This is an opportunity to learn how to develop grassroots campaign skills. It is a practical day, learning hands-on skills and getting grassroots campaigners to share their knowledge and best experience. People can then apply these skills to their own campaign.”

The SNP conference in Aberdeen is fast approaching and on the night before it starts the Aberdeen Independence movement are presenting what should be an entertaining and thoughtful pre-conference event.

Lawyer Aamer Anwar, best known recently for his work in defence of Catalan minister-in-exile Clara Ponsati, and author and playwright Alan Bissett will be at the Carmelite Hotel in Stirling Street, Aberdeen, on Thursday, June 7, from 7pm. Tickets priced £6-£8 from Eventbrite.
