DIFFERENT from All Under One Banner’s marches but along the same lines, pro-independence campaigners are to parade and rally in Dunfermline on Saturday, September 1.
Organised by the Forward as One group, the parade and rally will take part in Scotland’s ancient capital with a route that has already been agreed with Police Scotland.
Speakers at the rally in Pittencrieff Park from 11.45am will include local SNP MP Dougas Chapman and veteran campaigner Peter A Bell.

The organisers have issued an appeal for musicians to join in the parade.
They said: “As we have already advised, we’re going for the mardi-gras parade style rather than just a march.
“That’s why we are putting out an open call for musicians, drummers, pipers and bands to join in the Forward as One Parade on the September 1.
“If you are interested in participating then please contact martin.keatings@forwardas.one.”
Organisers are also looking for a sign language interpreter to go onstage and are encouraging participants to bring along donations for the local food bank.

They said: “As part of the Forward as One community outreach project, we will be running a food bank drop point at the rally in Dunfermline next to the operations tent which will be next to the stage.
“We would very much appreciate it if those in attendance would consider donating.”
The National will publicise the route and speakers next week.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
