SHE has already played to 12,500 people at Wembley.

But unsigned singer Katee Kross says performing in front of the First Minister will be her most nerve wracking gig yet.

Kross was plucked from her life as a Bishopbriggs guitar teacher for the London arena turn last October by US star Seasick Steve, who saw her cover one of his tracks in a YouTube clip.

She was invited back to support him at Glasgow’s more intimate Kelvingrove Bandstand this summer and has recorded a new album, Fade to Grey.

Now the 20-year-old is gearing up for another major milestone after being booked to serenade Nicola Sturgeon and other senior figures at the SNP’s National St Andrew's Dinner in November.

Sturgeon is amongst those set to speak at the annual event, alongside Finance Secretary Derek Mackay, with Kross and her Amberjax Band among featured entertainers.

Kross told the party’s Independence Magazine, which is behind the yearly fundraiser, that she “can’t wait” for her chance to take a selfie with the First Minister, stating: “To be asked to appear in front of the FM is an honour – but playing for the First Minister will be more nerve wracking than performing in front of 12,500 people at Wembley.”

Folk singer Alastair McDonald is also on the bill, which has previously featured Gaelic choirs, drumming bands and more.

Radio favourite Iain Anderson will return as MC for the evening.

Jack Paterson, editor of Independence Magazine, commented: “The National St Andrew's Dinner is the biggest event of the SNP social calendar.

“It’s not only a chance for party members, supporters and serving politicians of all ranks to get together, but also an opportunity to let some of the country’s best entertainers shine.

“We are delighted to have Katee Kross on the bill this year and look forward to what is sure to be another first class evening of politics and entertainment as we continue to work towards independence for our country.”

Tickets for the event at the Glasgow Doubletree by Hilton hotel cost £69.50 per person and booking information is available from Bill Campbell on 07806 316 422 or bill@saltiregraphics.scot.
