BILLED as “three days of music, art and adventure in a fairytale setting”, Kelburn Garden Party Festival is one of the best and most colourful boutique festivals these islands offer. Set against the ancient woodlands and sumptuous formal gardens of the Kelburn Estate, its programme features party sounds from across the planet, cool vibes to make you sweat and DJ sets from crate-diggers who won’t let you stop dancing.

Highlights include a very rare DJ set from UK jungle godfather-turned-actor/activist Goldie, acid house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald and 2017 SAY nominee Auntie Flo.

As well as the exotically decorated Kelburn Castle itself, there’s much here to see in the way of visual art, with site-specific works, installation-strewn adventure trails and a key attraction for this year: artist Luke Jerram’s remarkable Museum of the Moon project. The installation of the seven-metre diameter perfect scale reproduction of the Moon – which is at Mackintosh Church in Glasgow’s Maryhill until June 24 – will be the first time it has featured at a UK music festival and will offer a contemplative centrepiece for those needing a recharge.
