Golf: The Open Championship Highlights, BBC2, 8pm

EILIDH Barbour presents action from the second day of the prestigious event, which takes place at Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, as the players aimed to make the cut ahead of the weekend’s play. Day two of last year’s tournament at Royal Birkdale was blighted by testing weather conditions. While eventual champion Jordan Spieth managed to take sole position at the top of the leaderboard following a one-under 69 to claim an overall score of six under par, a host of former champions, such as Phil Mickelson and Darren Clarke missed the cut.

Smashing Hits! The 80s Pop Map of Britain & Ireland, BBC4, 10pm
THE fascinating series concludes with a look at the musical north-south divide that emerged in the 1980s. Presenters Midge Ure and Kim Appleby discover that as dance music became more influential, there were two cities battling it out to be the UK’s pop capital – London and Manchester. Interviewees including Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, Mark Moore of S-Express, Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays and Peter Hook of New Order share their memories of the scenes that sprang us as studio technology began to the change the musical landscape.

The Crystal Maze, C4, 8pm
NEW series. The 1990s game show returns for a fifth run in its updated incarnation. Richard Ayoade guides five competitors, who are paid to play computer games for a living, on an epic adventure through four fantastical zones. In each zone the team must tackle physical, skill, mystery and mental challenges to win crystals.

Celebrity 5 Go Caravanning, C5, 8pm
ARRIVING in Askrigg, North Yorkshire, Colin Baker, Sherrie Hewson, Todd Carty, Tony Blackburn and Sonia enlist the expertise of shepherdess Alison to explore the iconic landscape. Travelling on to historic Richmond, Tony and Sonia drop into the Angel Share bakery to sample traditional Yorkshire curd tarts, as actors Colin, Sherrie and Todd tread the boards at the Georgian Theatre Royal. Later, Sonia and Todd go in search of Whitby’s famous fish and chips, while Sherrie, Tony and Colin travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
