VIEWERS of a certain vintage will remember the days when Saturday afternoons on ITV showed wrestling on World of Sport. The segment was hugely popular (especially among elderly women, if some of the vintage clips of the ringside audiences are anything to go by) and turned the likes of Kendo Nagasaki, Mick McManus, Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks into household names. Now WOS Wrestling is back for a 10-part series, with some of the UK’s finest fighters competing.

My Family and the Galapagos, Channel 4, 8pm

NEW series. In 1978, the Galapagos Islands were designated a Unesco World Heritage site. 40 years on, broadcaster and biologist Monty Halls returns to his “favourite place on Earth” to investigate this jewel of nature. He is joined by his research team – wife Tam and daughters Isla and Molly, who will live there for three months.

Reginald D Hunter’s Songs of the Border, BBC2, 9pm

THE border between the US and Mexico has been in the news thanks to President Trump and his wall, but as comedian Reginald D Hunter discovers, it has also long held sway over the imagination of songwriters in both countries. In this documentary, Hunter takes a 2000-mile road trip along the border to learn what music can tell us
