Katie Derham chats to him ahead of the performance. Plus, cellist and singer Ayanna Witter-Johnson and soprano Nadine Benjamin – a collaboration that fuses Brahms and New York disco.

ENGLAND’S newest national park is made up of vast tracts of unspoilt ancient woodland, heathland and river valleys, where deer, ponies and cattle roam free. However, life changes dramatically over the year, particularly in spring. For the semi-wild ponies and cattle, giving birth to foals and calves during this changeable season isn’t easy. Plus, late frosts could spell disaster for the goshawk’s precious eggs.

My Family and the Galapagos,
Channel 4, 8pm

MONTY Halls’s last few weeks on the Galapagos are spent learning more about sharks. He takes his daughter Isla snorkelling with the creatures, then visits her school to give a talk on the ocean’s most dangerous predators. Monty later joins a research expedition to tag and photograph whale sharks. The family also learns more about marine iguanas. Last in the series.

Sylvia Plath: Life Inside the Bell Jar,
BBC2, 9pm

AN exploration of Sylvia Plath’s semi-autobiographical novel and the wider issue of 1950s gender politics. The documentary features an interview with the author’s daughter, Frieda Hughes, reconstructions of excerpts from the book, letters, photographs and contributions from people who knew the writer.
