The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2018, BBC1, 7.30pm

ACTOR Bill Paterson has become the voice of this event and is back again to narrate highlights from Edinburgh Castle. During the Tattoo’s long history, performers from about 50 countries have taken part, and those featured this time include the United States Air Force Guard Drill Team, the Central Band of the Czech Armed Forces (who are making their debut in Edinburgh), the US’s Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums and Banda Monumental De Mexico. The theme is The Sky Is The Limit, with musical renditions to complement that before a lone piper ends the show.

Jamie Cooks Italy, Channel 4, 8.30pm

JAMIE Oliver and Gennaro Contaldo head to Naples to seek out the family recipes the locals love to eat before giving a foolproof guide to making the ultimate one at home. On the island of Procida, Jamie is blown away by sensational seafood dishes, inspiring him to make a fish poached in “crazy water”. There are recipes for a classic margherita and sausage and broccoli pizza, and tuna, courgette and crushed almond spaghetti.

Speed With Guy Martin: Classic F1 Special, Channel 4, 9pm

MARTIN goes head to head with 2009 world champion Jenson Button around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Guy is driving a classic 1983 Williams FW08c, working for six months with the Williams heritage Division to restore it from museum piece to racing condition, and learned how to drive Formula 1 style under the direction of Karun Chandhok, formerly of the Hispania Racing F1 Team. Button is in a prototype six-wheeled Williams from the 1980s.

Riz Ahmed: Road To Englistan, BBC2, 10pm

NIKKI Bedi chats to the actor about his life and career, covering TV, films, music and politics, as well as his childhood and youth in Wembley and the obstacles he has had to overcome. Ahmed discusses working with Chris Morris on Four Lions, his Emmy-winning role in HBO drama The Night Of, starring in films including Nightcrawler, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Jason Bourne and new Marvel movie Venom, as well as current project Englistan, a drama he is writing for BBC2.
