Celebrity MasterChef, BBC1, 8pm
John Partridge, Spencer Matthews, Frankie Bridge, Jean Johansson and Anita Harris take part in the culinary contest, whipping up dishes from mystery ingredients – including lamb rump, whole mackerel, mozzarella, aubergine, apricots and filo pastry – to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace. Anita, John and Jean head to Novikov, an Italian restaurant in Mayfair, London, while Spencer and Frankie are sent to Baluchi, a Pan-Indian eatery that showcases modern dishes.
The No.5 War, BBC4, 9pm
It's arguably the world’s most famous perfume – Marilyn Monroe once claimed it was the only thing she wore in bed – but as this documentary discovers, the story behind Chanel No.5 doesn’t smell quite as sweet. Coco Chanel’s perfume concept was a hit when it launched in 1921, but it became the focus of a battle between the designer and her business partners, the Wertheimer brothers. The film explores how, during the Second World War, Chanel and her Nazi lover saw a chance to oust the Jewish Wertheimers, who had fled occupied France.
Extraordinary Rituals, BBC2, 9pm
While Channel 4 shows Grayson Perry: Rites of Passage, in which the artist attempts to devise modern ceremonies for age-old life events, BBC Two has this similarly themed series which, sadly, reaches its conclusion tonight. The focus here is on how rituals are changing in the modern world. There’s an insight into the life of 24-year-old business graduate Bhumi Shah from Rajasthan in India, who has decided to reject society to become a Jain nun. Meanwhile, in Senegal, wrestling champions can earn up to £100,000 a bout, and followers believe amulets and potions can give their heroes an edge.
Keeping Faith, BBC1, 9pm
With Williams now out of the way, Faith fights for her children in a heated court battle that risks tearing the Howells family apart, and as the clock ticks on Faith’s debt, Steve makes a deadly pact with his former employers to secure her freedom. Meanwhile, Tom and Marion have to face up to tough truths, and Faith finally uncovers the truth behind Evan’s disappearance. Final episode of the thriller about a woman who is drawn into a mystery when her husband suddenly vanishes.
