The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, C4, 8pm

WHEN The Great British Bake Off made its controversial move from BBC to Channel 4 last year, one of the secondary concerns of the show’s fans was the future of An Extra Slice. Popular in its own right, Jo Brand’s companion show has built up a massive audience during the Bake-Off years, with millions tuning in for unseen footage from the programme and an interview with the week’s eliminated baker. However, fans needn’t have worried – Brand was back as the host, there were celebrity guests and members of the public brought in their own home-baked goodies.

Edinburgh Nights with Nish Kumar, BBC2, 11.05pm

SINCE its launch in 1947, the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe has grown to become the largest arts gathering in the world with around 4000 shows in around 300 venues selling almost three millions tickets. Some of the best-known names in entertainment got their big break at the festivals, including Mike Myers, Steve Coogan, Miranda Hart, Emma Thompson, Graham Norton, Hugh Laurie, Billy Connolly and JK Rowling.

Peng Life, C4, 11.05pm

ELIJAH Quashie’s sidekicks Nelson and Wilson compare a pricey pedicure versus something off the high street. The boys also enjoy a sweet treat with guest Jessie Ware as they compare VIP custom doughnuts to a supermarket version. They then check out two ways of boat living – the humble canal boat and a high-end mega yacht. There is also a peek at the production of the Peng Life theme tune.

BBC Ouch Storytelling Live: Going Out, BBC2, 11.35pm

LEE Ridley is unable to speak, but with the aid of a voice synthesizer he has become a successful stand-up comedian – as Lost Voice Guy, he won the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards in 2014 and earlier this year, was voted the winner of Britain’s Got Talent. So, he’s the perfect person to host this special event at the Edinburgh Fringe.
