SELF-portraits charting a Scottish photographer’s drug addiction are to go on show at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in a free exhibition.

Graham MacIndoe was working in New York as an A-list photographer when he became addicted to heroin and crack cocaine, which sent him to jail. Now recovered, his Coming Clean series will be shown at the Edinburgh gallery from April 8 - November 5.

He said: “I never anticipated that these photographs would find a place in the national collection, so I’m especially excited for the opportunity to exhibit them in the city where I first discovered photography.”
