RYANAIR has launched a high frequency Glasgow–Frankfurt route, which will become a daily service from October onwards.
Three new routes to Frankfurt were announced as part of the airline’s winter schedule, and along with other routes, it is expected to bring an increase of 24 per cent in passenger numbers.
Amanda McMillan, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: “Frankfurt is one of the world’s leading financial hubs and home to the European Central Bank, while Glasgow is often cited as Scotland’s economic powerhouse.
“This daily service will link two cities with much in common and further strengthen our European connectivity.”
The total number of routes the airline operates from Glasgow airport will rise to 23.
Robin Kiely, Ryanair’s head of communications, said: “We are pleased to announce a new route from Glasgow to Frankfurt am Main, our third new Glasgow winter 2017 route following Krakow and Madrid, with a daily service starting in October.
“To celebrate our new route, we are releasing seats for sale from just £9.99 for travel in March and April, which are available for booking until midnight Thursday.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
