A WOMAN who claims she was filmed urinating on Donald Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf course has been accused of pursing damages to “publicise opposition to the course”.

Carol Rohan Beyts 62, is claiming £3000 in damages from Trump International Golf Links Scotland, claiming staff breached data protection laws by “secretly filming’’ her. She told Edinburgh Sheriff Court she has bladder problems and was caught short on a walk in April last year.

Her lawyer Mike Dailly said images of her urinating had been “captured unlawfully” by staff and greenkeeper Edward Irvine, 23 – who denies filming her but admitted taking photos as “evidence” – gave “somewhat contradictory and somewhat inconsistent” evidence while Beyt’s had been “credible, clear and consistent”.

But Paul Motion QC, representing Trump International, asked Sheriff Corke to reject the claims, saying Beyt’s publication of events through the media and Facebook called her distress into question.

Sheriff Corke said he plans to make a decision on the case on Wednesday.
