EDINBURGH have been told to brush up their act after last week’s Guinness Pro12 defeat by Connacht.
The Myreside outfit travel to Italy to face Treviso today, but acting head coach Duncan Hodge wants to see a reaction after their 22-19 loss against the Devil’s Own.
He said: “Our composure and error count let us down last week and we’ve continued to work hard in training to sharpen up on this front.
“We need to start the game well and gain control in the opening exchanges. Treviso have proven many times this season they are a tough and well-drilled outfit. They’ll battle hard to get a foothold early in the game, so we need to match them by getting off the mark faster than we did against Connacht. We see this game as a big chance to put right our wrongs of recent weeks.”
Hodge has made one change to his starting line-up, with Jason Tovey returning from injury to start at stand-off in place of Duncan Weir, who drops to the bench.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
