SUPERHEROES, Disney princesses and horror-movie villains rubbed shoulders this weekend at Edinburgh Comic Con.

Video-game fighters and Power Rangers were also in the mix at the two-day event at Edinburgh International Conference Centre, where film screenings and artist talks were held alongside wrestling bouts and a cosplay championship.

The family-friendly event also included a games arcade, Lego exhibition and a display of replica items from famous movies.

Joshua Nicholson and Erin Yorkston from Elgin showed their love for the Halo video game series by donning their versions of battle gear used by fighters in the franchise.

Others attended as characters from Star Wars, Pokemon and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Also spotted were a number of heroes from Marvel’s Avengers series, which recently came to the city to film explosive scenes for upcoming movies.
