‘Self Destructing Society’ by Mary Legge
A CHANCE to win up to £1000 is being offered to creative young people in Scotland aged between 16 and 25.
Videos, music, paintings, stories and illustrations are all eligible for the John Byrne Award, named after the Scottish artist and playwright.
The best entry each month is also exhibited in this paper and wins £100. Annually, the best visual, video, written, music and other entries are awarded £500 each; the best overall entry is awarded £1000.
“I am stunned by how much creativity, thought and personal experience go into them,” Byrne said. “Younger people are taking note of the world as they live and go from day to day.”
