ABERDEEN have failed in a bid to sign Motherwell striker Louis Moult.
The offer, in the region of £250,000, fell well short of Motherwell’s valuation of their top goalscorer from the past two seasons.
Motherwell have offered Moult an extension to his contract, which expires next summer, and the deal would make him the club’s highest-paid player. The 25-year-old former Wrexham player has scored 36 goals in two seasons at the club.
Meanwhile, Jacob Blyth’s Fir Park nightmare continues after the club confirmed he faces up to six months out following surgery.
The 24-year old was restricted to one start last season after picking up a string of injuries following his move from Leicester, and he will now spend the next four to six months on the sidelines. The striker underwent surgery on a foot injury he suffered while playing for the under-20s towards the end of last term.
Manager Stephen Robinson said he would readjust his plans rather than rush to sign a replacement.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
