NEIL Lennon has said he has high hopes for his new signings from Lithuania after handing the pair debuts in Hibernian’s comfortable Betfred Cup victory over Alloa Athletic on Saturday.

International duo Vykintas Slivka and Deivydas Matulevicius were both introduced as substitutes in the second half as the Easter Road outfit eased to top spot in Group D with a 3-0 win.

Lennon said: Hopefully they’ll bring us something different.

“Slivka is just in the door at the minute, really, so we haven’t really got any work into him.

“Once he gets to know the players and how we play, we’re hoping he’ll slot in there quite well.

“Deivydas has been here a while and you can see what he’s going to bring to the team.

“He’s a big boy, a physical presence, and I thought he was unlucky not to get a penalty.

“He’s got a bit of work to catch up with the rest, but that’s fine, and he’ll give us a different dimension to how we want to play at times.”
