THE husband of missing Aberdeen woman Nusrat Jahan urged the public to help find the 34-year-old yesterday. The mother had told a friend she was going to the beach on Thursday, but failed to return.

A search began after the friend called police to report fears about her well-being.

The last confirmed sighting of Nusrat, from the Seaton area and also uses the surname Dow, was at Marischal College at around 4pm on Thursday despite extensive enquiries to track her last movements and establish her current whereabouts.

Divers and a mountain rescue team joined the search on Monday and yesterday police issued fresh images of the missing woman as they urged locals to help them find her.

Searchers continued to the south of the city from Aberdeen beach yesterday, with a focus on the coastline at Cove to Torry Battery.

Partner Colin Dow said: “It has been five days since Nusrat went missing and with each day that passes we are finding it increasingly difficult to come to terms with the fact no one has seen or heard from her since.

“We are extremely grateful for the support police have had so far from the public by providing information and potential sightings of Nusrat. The sad reality though is that she is still missing and we don’t know where she is. To anyone else who can help us understand what has happened to Nusrat, I would ask you to get in touch with police as soon as possible and tell them what you know.”
