ST Mirren moved back into second place in the Ladbrokes Championship with a 3-1 over Queen of the South at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Lewis Morgan continued his excellent form with a brace, one either side of half-time, after Cammy Smith had given Jack Ross’s men the lead.

Towering centre-back Jason Kerr, on loan from Premiership side St Johnstone, scored a consolation for Gary Naysmith’s midway through the second half but it was too little too late.

It means the Paisley side regained second place in the division at the expense of Dundee United and sit one point behind leaders Dunfermline.

It was Morgan’s seventh and eighth goals of the season and afterwards the man of the match praised that his side were sharing the goals around, as well as the execution of them.

“I think the three goals we scored epitomises what we’re all about at the moment,” said Morgan.

“It’s good to see Cammy get on the scoresheet again. There’s a few of us chipping in with the goals at the moment.”
