IT’S official and confirmed that President Donald Trump will be in Aberdeen in nine days’ time, and he will be out to give former First Minister Alex Salmond a roasting.

Before the anti-Trump campaign start rushing out their posters and preparing a ‘warm’ welcome for the Prez, they should know that this ‘Trump’ is actually Scottish comedian Des Clarke who was the smash hit guest of the Alex Salmond Unleashed show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Clarke, who hosts the Capital FM breakfast show and Radio Scotland’s Breaking the News, will once again don his blonde wig and very orange make-up to play Trump when the touring version of Alex Salmond Unleashed hits the Granite City on October 14.

By common consent, Clarke’s impression of the President brought the house down during Salmond’s sell-out run at the Assembly Rooms, and now he is packing his baseball cap and extra-long red tie to play the Prez again.

Along with comedian Janey Godley and The Carloways band, Clarke will be performing at both shows at Aberdeen’s newly refurbished Tivoli Theatre, and with tickets selling fast the cast are advising Aberdonians to get their tickets quick to avoid disappointment.

Each show also features singing legend Sheena Wellington and a surprise guest star. The two performances in Aberdeen will be at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and the show has doubled in length to two hours so ‘Trump’ will have plenty to say.

Alex Salmond said: “Des was absolutely tremendous at the Fringe this year and I am delighted that he’ll be back on the boards with me and my other guests.

“It’s sure to be another top performance especially since he has vowed to ‘MAKE ABERDEEN GREAT AGAIN’”

Clarke said: “Slipping into character as Donald Trump was surprisingly good fun and the banter with Alex was electric. It allowed me to be outrageously crass and offensive...much like the President himself!

“So, to everyone coming to Aberdeen, you can look forward to a great night of entertainment. Where you’ll see Mr Salmond roast Trump and The Donald smoke Salmond. This is not fake news!”
