TICKET holders are promised a “guid night guaranteed” at an indy event in Scotland’s ancient capital next week.

Eight musical acts are to perform at a special event in Dunfermline on Thursday.

Audiences at the Fife date can expect blues, pop, folk and more.

Organised by Yes Dunfermline in conjunction with the SNP in Dunfermline and West Fife, the Independence Rocks! night has been arranged as “a change to relax and enjoy the evening after a particularly hard year”.

2017 has included several periods of intense campaigning, including those for the local government and snap general elections.

A number of by-elections for the Scottish Parliament and councils have also been held across the country.

The Dunfermline date will be introduced by The National columnist Lesley Riddoch and hosted by Stirling singer Ted Christopher.

Other acts set to appear include tribute band Just Beatles, blues and swing band Baby Isaac and local folk singer Amanda Brown, as well as Tulliallan Pipes and Drums.

In a statement, organisers said: “The music will range from Beatles to Burns as well as bagpipes and the chance to blether with friends.”

The event runs from 7pm until midnight at Glen Pavilion in the town’s Pittencrieff Park on October 26.

Tickets, costing £10, are available from the Independence Rocks! page on skiddle.com, with no charge for children under 14.
