WE only need to look back to Ruth Davidson in action at the last election to see how well the method advocated by David Cairns of Finavon can work (Putting the message on repeat is the way to win indy, The National, October 19).

Poor Ruth might never have learned that “referendum” means “choice” when she went to school in the good old days, but somewhere she learnt that repetition does push facts – and fantasies – into hard heads, dull heads, and heads that have no interest in politics, and heads that enjoy a moan!

One sentence, and no policies worked for her.

So when we get into action with our indy facts, let’s have short, simple sentences, not too many of them, but every one of them true.

And none of them should begin: “We don’t want ... !” Let’s go for the positive every time – what we DO want, and how we will win these things.
