LABOUR MP Jared O’Mara was brought down by his internet history yesterday, after the party suspended him following yet more obscene and indecent comments from his past emerged.

The 35-year-old, who unexpectedly toppled Nick Clegg to become the MP for Sheffield Hallam in June’s snap election, has had the whip removed while Labour bosses investigate “comments and behaviour which have been reported from earlier this year”.

Those allegations refer to claims made by Sophie Evans, who told the BBC’s Daily Politics she had met O’Mara on a dating app and there had been “no hard feelings” when things did not work out between them.

But in March, O’Mara, who was DJing in a nightclub, made comments to her that “aren’t broadcastable” and called her an “ugly bitch”, she said.

Comments from 15 years ago on various websites, unearthed by the Guido Fawkes blog, include O’Mara calling the Spanish, “dagos” and accusing the Danes of “bestiality”.

He also referred to homosexuality as “driving up the Marmite motorway” and “fudge packing” and, jokingly, called for musician Jamie Callum to be “sodomised to death.”.

The Guido Fawkes site has also found another post made by O’Mara in his mid-20s – a review of an Arctic Monkeys gig – in which he calls girls “sexy little slags”.

He also sang a song about “smashing” a woman in the face, asked Girls Aloud for an orgy and wrote that fat women don’t “deserve respect”.

Speaking about the matter, shadow chancellor John McDonnell said: “New information has come to light, so quite rightly the Labour Party has acted swiftly.

“He’s been suspended, the whip has been withdrawn.”
