EVE Muirhead has found plenty of positives despite her team losing 6-3 to the Canadian rink in the semi final of the Masters of Curling.
Muirhead, Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams, Lauren Gray and Kelly Schafer were unable to top the rink skipped by Kerri Einarson in Alberta, Canada.
The Team GB curlers, who will compete at the Winter Olympics in South Korea next year, had progressed to the knock out stages of the tournament with a 3-1 record, and skip Muirhead has taken considerable positives from the way her team has performed over the week.
“We had a good run here in Lloydminster,” said Muirhead. “We came up against a strong Team Paetz in the quarter final who we edged 5-4 then moving on to the semi final we lost a close battle to Team Einarson.
“Overall our two weeks have been a great success, beating three of the teams we are going to be coming up against in the Europeans and Korea, so this is all stepping stones towards these major events.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
