FOR eleven sweet minutes on Thursday, Twitter was free from the presence of America's child president.

US President Donald Trump's Twitter account disappeared from the social media site on Thursday, instead directing curious users to a "Sorry, that page doesn't exist!" message.

The account was brough back online after 11 minutes, during which time Trump was unable to attack transgender folk or claim that there were good people 'on both sides'.

Following a quick investigation it was revealed that an employee had deactivated the @realDonaldTrump account on their last day of the job, proving once again that not all heroes wear capes.

Trump regularly uses his account to reach out to his 41.7 million followers, often tweeting controversial or laughable statements and attacking just about everyone - except for white supremacist groups.

In a surprising move Trump did not threaten Twitter HQ with fire and fury the likes of which the world has never seen, instead using his first tweet after the incident to discuss tax cuts for the rich.

He later tweeted that a rogue employee had deleted his twitter account as "the word must be finally getting out - and having an impact", seemingly unaware that as the 45th President of the United States and leader of the free world, he already has the means to share "the word" literally anywhere and no-one is stopping him.

Which "word" Trump was thinking of at the moment is also currently unclear, though in April of this year he claimed "I'm very highly educated. I know words. I have the best words" so we can only assume it's a good one.

Twitter maintain that the only reason his account has not been deleted permanently before now is because his tweets remain "newsworthy".
