ROSS County winger Davis Keillor-Dunn admits he could not ask for much more after making his first-team breakthrough and signing a new contract.

But the Sunderland-born player is targeting a Scotland Under-21 call-up to continue his impressive start to the season.

The former Chesterfield youth player has made 11 first-team appearances, scoring once, since helping County to the Development League title last season.

Keillor-Dunn celebrated his 20th birthday this week by signing a two-year contract extension, but he is hungry for more progress.

Speaking ahead of today’s Ladbrokes Premiership encounter with Motherwell, he said: “My grandad is Scottish so I’m eligible to play for Scotland.

“There were a few rumours that I was going to get selected for the 21s, but nothing came of it. Obviously after my goal and a few assists they might look again.

“Everyone is always pushing, trying to get me in the squad, because I know I would do well. It could be massive for me in my career.

“But all I want is to be playing in the Premiership every weekend, getting more games under my belt and goals and helping the team,” Keillor-Dunn added,

The wide player was handed his chance by Jim McIntyre in August, but his progress has not been derailed by a change in management as Keillor-Dunn is loving life under Owen Coyle.

“It’s been brilliant, what more could I ask for? The gaffer is playing me every week, giving me an opportunity, I am working hard in training,” he said. “I can feel myself getting better, we are all coming on as a team and I feel everything is going into place now. I am buzzing.”

Coyle’s immediate introduction was music to the young players’ ears.

“He said, ‘I don’t care how old you are, if you are good enough you will play in my team’, which I think is the best thing for a manager to say,” said Keillor-Dunn.

“As soon as the gaffer came in, we all took a shine to him and got down to work. You could see in training everyone just wanted to play and impress, so I think it’s going to be a great season.”
