DONALD Trump, President of the United States of America, has shared vile anti-Muslim propaganda from the fascist Britain First.

Three videos purporting to show Muslims committing acts of violence were originally posted by Jayda Fransen the deputy leader of the neo-Nazi party who last year was convicted of religiously aggravated harassment for harassed a mother-of-four because she was wearing a hijab.

The videos were titled: “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!” “Muslim Destroys a Statue of Virgin Mary!” and “Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”

One of the first to condemn Trump was Brendan Cox. His MP wife, Jo, was attacked and killed by a supporter of Britain First last year.

As she was attacked, the killer even shouted “Britain first”.

Cox took to Twitter: “Trump has legitimised the far right in his own country, now he’s trying to do it in ours. Spreading hatred has consequences & the President should be ashamed of himself.”

Labour MP David Lammy‏ tweeted: “Trump sharing Britain First. Let that sink in. The President of the United States is promoting a fascist, racist, extremist hate group whose leaders have been arrested and convicted. He is no ally or friend of ours.”

Ian Blackford, the SNP’s leader at Westminster said the tweets showed why a state visit for the half-Scottish tycoon would “not be appropriate”.

While SNP MSP Tom Arthur pointed out that “Boris Johnson, the British Foreign Secretary, [has] recently praised Trump's use of Twitter.”

“I despair. I utterly despair,” he added.

In the US, James R. Clapper, the former director of national intelligence, said he was disturbed by the tweets.

“So it has all kinds of ripple affects, both in terms of perhaps inciting or encouraging anti-Muslim violence, and as well causes, I think, our friends and allies around the world to wonder about the judgment of the president of the United States,” Mr. Clapper told CNN on Wednesday.

Fransen, has previously been charged with “religious aggravated harassment.”

Britain First was co-founded by Cumbernauld napkin salesman Jim Dowson, who has been named as one of the key players in spreading fake pro-Trump, anti-Hillary Clinton news during last year's presidential election.

Though the far-right group has never managed to make anything close to a dent in elections here, they have grabbed headlines through outlandish anti-Muslim publicity stunts, including storming mosques.

According to Hope Not Hate, much of what they do is “designed to ignite violent responses from the Muslim communities”.

The videos shared by Trump are not what they seem. The clip of a man being pushed off a rooftop was filmed in Egypt during the 2013 overthrow of president Mohamed Morsi. One man was hanged after being found guilty of the crime.

“Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches”, which showed two teenagers fighting, led to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy in Monnickendam earlier this year. He wasn’t a muslim.

The source of the video showing a Virgin Mary statue being destroyed is unclear.
