CONSERVATIVE MSP Annie Wells stormed on to Twitter to launch an attack on the Scottish Government's draft budget announcement - only to end up insulting everyone.

Wells tweeted "A message from @theSNP to the 1 million Scots who are to pay more tax. Don’t be ambitious, don’t be hard working and don’t be successful in the SNP’s Scotland."

Many were quick to spot the implication that the 7 in 10 Scots likely to face a tax cut were not, in the eyes of Annie Wells, ambitious, hard working or successful.

Others were offended that Wells assumed those who earned over £33k, and who will see their taxes rise, were not willing to pay a little bit extra to keep public services.

This is how Scottish Political Twitter reacted:

The Scottish Conservatives have been approached for comment.
