In this new series, three industry insiders offer a look at how the music business really works, starting with super agent Emma Banks, who has worked with everyone from Kanye West to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. She examines the role that record executives and A&R gurus play in spotting potential stars and building their careers. It’s a tale that takes in the Motown “finishing school” and Damon Dash’s dogged promotion of Jay-Z.

THIS second series of the action drama finds Roger Murtaugh attempting to steer clear of the demons that haunt his partner Martin Riggs, while navigating some challenging times at home. In this instalment, the mismatched duo respond to the death of a plastic surgeon, drawing them into a case involving an illegal drug ring run out of a wellness clinic. Things heat up when Palmer from the DEA and Riggs compete to solve the case first.

Monty Don’s Paradise Gardens, BBC 2, 9pm
PART one of two. The presenter visits gardens that represent and symbolise the four areas of Islamic civilisation – Andalucian, Moghul, Persian and Ottoman – revealing the importance of Paradise Gardens celebrated in the Koran. He begins his quest in Spain, where he discovers their basic building blocks. In Morocco, he sees the wide variety of paradise gardens, from an enormous royal walled meadow, to a secret inner city courtyard.

Will & Grace, Channel 5, 10pm
IN this instalment, a medical check-up reveals Grace has possible signs of breast cancer, and she learns her emergency contact is not Will but her ex-husband Leo. Meanwhile, after losing out on a dog food commercial, Jack takes a temp job as a drama teacher in the Bronx.
