ONE of Scotland’s top comedy stars will join Alex Salmond and former Catalan minister Clara Ponsati in Dundee this week.

Elaine C Smith will be joining the Alex Salmond Unleashed crew at the Caird Hall Dundee on Friday night.

She will be interviewed about her Yes politics as well as performing for the Dundee crowd.

She joins St Andrews University academic Ponsati and her lawyer Aamer Anwar, who will speak about their battle to prevent her extradition to Spain.

Alex Salmond said: “I am delighted that Elaine C will be able to join us in Dundee. She is a stage phenomenon and will make sure that the Unleashed show sparkles with entertainment as well as bristles with information.

“Just a few tickets are left for Dundee and so we have put on an extra show with Clara Ponsati on Saturday night in Edinburgh, at the Principal Edinburgh George Street Hotel.

“Her cause against extradition has galvanised the Yes movement in Scotland.

“At both events there will be fundraising for Clara’s defence and it will be fascinating to hear her personal story.

“I will also be joined by our house band The Calloways and the great Sheena Wellington, and the Very Reverend Former First Minister will surely put in an appearance.

“In Edinburgh, Unleashed regular Des Clarke, the man who does ‘The Donald’ better than the American President himself, rejoins the crew.

“We are all greatly looking forward to both shows.”
