The National:

THE Scottish political scene was left in shock today when the Scottish Sun revealed that cardboard, when exposed to a naked flame for a period of time, will catch fire.

Stunned social media users couldn't believe that it could take just seven lengthy minutes for a small cardboard box to catch fire after a lighter was held against it.

The video in question showed how a Scottish Government issue baby box could easily catch fire when it was deliberately set on fire.

One Facebook user expressed outrage upon hearing the news.

They said: "How can I feel safe leaving my newborn child surrounded by candles now that I know extended exposure to flames can cause things to burst into even more flames? I for one will not be using the baby box!"

A spokesperson for the Scottish Conservatives also condemned the lack of oversight by the Scottish Government.

In a statement to the press they claimed: "It is outrageous that the SNP have used a material in the baby box that can so easily catch fire when exposed directly to a naked flame for a period of time.

"These boxes are a real danger to babies and the hired nannies that raise them. No to a second referendum."

The Scottish Government were too puzzled to comment.
