NANDO'S have just shot down a Tory scheme to give out discount cards with party memberships.

Conservative party chiefs were allegedly considering giving away Nando's discount cards with new party memberships in a last ditch bid to woo young voters.

However the restaurant chain have reportedly blasted the suggestion today.

Speaking to the Mirror, a spokesperson for the chain said: "We have no political affiliations and there is and will not be a political discount card."

They added: "No political discount card exists. We have a Nando’s loyalty card and standard gift cards that anyone can use, and we offer a 20% discount to Police, Fire Services, Ambulance service and NHS staff."

Facing dwindling membership numbers, the Tory party will be launchuing a bid to attract young people tonight - though now without the propsect of discounted chicken.

A Labour source said: "The desperate Tories offering a Nando’s discount scheme was always a peri peri stupid idea."
