AT the Yes DIY hub, we never cease to be amazed at the breadth of subjects which Yes groups want to discuss as they prepare for the second referendum campaign.

Paisley Women for Independence, for example, have an event this Monday, which features an academic renowned for his work on both Scottish and Catalan matters.

The group is hosting An Evening with Mark McNaught: The Transition to Independence, at the Wynd Centre in Paisley which it starts at 7pm.

Dr McNaught is assistant professor of law and political science at the University of Rennes in France.

Since 2011, he has focused his research on Scottish and Catalan independence, and written extensively on both, spending considerable time in Barcelona and Glasgow working alongside academics, politicians, activists and participants in both movements.

A spokesperson for Paisley Women for Independence said: “This event is open to anyone interested in the constitutional possibilities of independence. It will be followed by a short Q&A session for those who’d like to bring a question to the floor.

“A donation of £3 (£1.50 concession) to help cover costs is to be paid at the doors which open at 6.45pm.”

Elsewhere, the NHS is always a hot topic and on Saturday, June 16, Yes Eastwood presents Dr Philippa Whitford speaking on the issue. It’s from 3-5pm at Mearns Castle High School, Newton Mearns. Tickets are £3, but are free to Yes Eastwood card holders.
