The National:

AT First Minister's Questions today, Nicola Sturgeon tore apart the Tories even more thoroughly than they have devolution.

The highlight was Miles Briggs trying to say the UK Government was doing so much more for the NHS than the Scottish Government was.

We've put up a transcript if you're unable to watch the video ... but it's worth it, seeing the look on Briggs's face as the First Minister corrects him.

"Does the First Minister not accept that since 2010 her Government has received £2.46 billion in additional Barnett Consequential funding for her health service?" he asks.

The Tory MSP fails to mention broken promises of money being handed over in the past, and the little fact of per-head spending.

Thankfully, the First Minister did.

"I’m not sure if Miles Briggs is aware of this, but health spending in Scotland is £163 per person higher than it is in England," Sturgeon said. Even if he was awar eof it, Tories are capable of some impressive levels of cognitive dissonance.

It should also be noted that before asking the next question, fellow Tory MSP Michelle Ballantyne added: “Let’s hope this will go better then.”

We're sure Ruth Davidson was also wishing Briggs had just stayed sat down...
