Bargain Hunt (BBC1, 12.15pm)
IT’S BBC Music Day and to mark it (and make 1990s indie kids feel very old) two bands are going head to head. Yes, Jarvis Cocker and Candida Doyle of Pulp are taking on Mark “Bez” Berry and Rowetta Satchell of the Happy Mondays to see who can make the most profit at auction (with all proceeds going to charity, of course). They’ll be let loose with two experts and £300 at the Kent County showground. Meanwhile, presenter Charlie Ross visits a legendary recording studio in Wales.

Rameses, Moses and Murder: Revealed (C5, 7pm)
MOSES is one of the biblical figures who seems to most appeal to filmmakers, but while we’ve had the blockbusting versions of his story, this documentary explores its historical roots. It looks at the figure of Ramesses the Great, the third pharaoh of the 19th dynasty of Egypt, as well as the legend of Moses, who as a baby was placed in a basket by his mother and left to float down the Nile in order to avoid a decree that every first-born male child be immediately killed. Later, an Israelite of the tribe of Levi, Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Golf: Ryder Cup Highlights (BBC2, 8.30pm)
FOR the first time in a while, Europe’s golfers are going into a home Ryder Cup as underdogs, facing a star-studded, major-laden American team looking to retain the trophy won at Hazeltine two years ago. Things are never that straightforward in this biennial clash of continents though, and there’ll be high drama in France before the result is decided on Sunday. This programme features highlights of the opening foursomes and afternoon fourballs at the Albatros Course of Le Golf National.

Celebrity MasterChef (BBC1, 8.30pm)
THE three remaining celebrities take part in the final. Their penultimate challenge is the toughest they’ve faced: The chef’s table. This year it will be hosted by critically acclaimed chef Bryn Williams. The trio will be working out of his new restaurant, Bryn Williams at Somerset House, cooking for a gathering of some the best chefs in the country. Back at base, the three must cook and present a faultless three-course meal for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
