THE latest group to help The National by distributing 1000 free copies of the paper is Yes Monifieth who will be out and about in its area of Angus today.
It really does help raise the profile of The National which remains the only daily and Sunday newspaper that supports independence for Scotland.
We wish them well and we’ll tell you all about their activities on Monday.

Just a couple of events to remind you about this weekend, the first of which is not about independence per se but a cause dear to the hearts of many in the Yes movement.
In Glasgow today, Scottish CND will launch a mobile exhibition detailing the history of the organisation at the Mitchell Library, Glasgow.
The launch event will take place from 12.30pm-1pm this afternoon and it will feature some brief contributions from Scottish CND executive members who helped to bring the project together.
After the launch event the exhibition will be on display until 4pm. The exhibition consists of a timeline of important actions and events involving Scottish CND and the wider Scottish peace movement.
This timeline is accompanied by video testimonies from key figures from the Scottish peace movement and has a wide-ranging display of newspaper clippings, banners and badges.
Also today, Edinburgh Women for Independence – Independence for Women is holding its Christmas tea party at Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel from 2pm to 4pm.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
