Vincent Van Gogh painted the self-portrait while recovering from a mental breakdown in a French asylum
EXPERTS in Amsterdam have confirmed that a Vincent Van Gogh self-portrait was indeed painted by himself as he recovered in a French asylum from a mental breakdown in the summer of 1889.
Researcher Louis Van Tilborgh dispelled the doubts, which rose in the 1970s, on Monday.
